Labels often stick with us. What’s a label (serious or silly) that’s been put on you, and how has it shaped the way you see yourself or others?

Why do you think labels—religious, political, or personal—carry so much weight and even divide people? How have labels shaped the way you see yourself or others?

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote, “The line separating good and evil passes through every human heart.”
How does this challenge the way we normally divide people into “good” and “bad” boxes? Where do you see those boxes showing up in our culture today (social media, politics, even in the church)?

How do these verses challenge the way we look at people who are different from us? Who might be a “Cornelius” in your life—someone God may be asking you to see and love differently?

Jesus spent time with people who were considered outcasts. How does His example challenge you personally, and what would it look like for you to treat people who think, live, or believe differently the way Jesus did?

Spend some time praying as a group. Feel free to use this as a template:
“Jesus, thank You that You see us fully and love us completely. Thank You that You don’t put us in boxes but welcome us into Your family by grace. Open our eyes this week to see others the way You do—without favoritism, without judgment, and with compassion. Give us courage to step toward people who are different from us, and help us to reflect Your love in all we say and do. Amen.”
