“Earth was becoming like heaven, because of their way of life, boldness of speech, and wonders. Like angels, they were looked upon with wonder. They were unconcerned about ridicule, threats, perils. They were compassionate and beneficent. Some helped with money, some with words, some with healing of their bodies and of their souls. They accomplished every kind of healing.” Chrysostom

CULTURAL IMPACT
SCRIPTURE
The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade. (Because of what happened with Ananias and Sapphira) no one else dared to join them, even though all the people had high regard for them. Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women. As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed. The high priest and his officials who were Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. Acts 5:12-18
THE MIRACLES
We should embrace miracles.
Miracle: when the Supernatural breaks into time and space to interfere with the natural.
We should anticipate miracles.
We should understand miracles.
Miracles are not a result of superstitions or formulas.
Miracles are not sufficient in and of themselves.
Miracles are common and uncommon.
Miracles are pointers to Christ.
The primary purpose of a miracle is to point people to Jesus Christ! This is why they’re called miracles, “signs”, and wonders.
THE MUNDANE
It was their mission to infect their spheres, through miracles and their way of life.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Jerusalem: Home, Church, Immediate Family
When we win at home, there is usually a ripple effect into the other spheres.
Judea: Neighborhood, School, Work, Friendships
“The Christian shoemaker does his duty not by putting little crosses on the shoes, but by making good shoes.” Martin Luther
Avoid the “Perfect Kick” mentality.
Samaria: City, State, Country
We must live counterculture, but we must do it well!
Ends of the Earth: Nations
THE CULTURAL IMPACT
This combination of miracles and the mundane breeds cultural impact!
The greatest fruit of revival is changed lives and a changed city.
THE RESPONSES
It will capture the attention of Heaven.
It will capture the attention of Hell.
Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:12
It will capture the attention of people.
“Let your light shine before others, so that others may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
