God Moments: How have you seen God working, either in your life or in the life of another, over the summer?
Title: "c3: There" (09-14-25)

The Point: We Are Called to C3are for the Hurts of Our Local Neighbors
Focus Verse - Mark 2:15. Have a narrator read this passage, but after the word "sinner", add different types of "sinners" (ie, gamblers, pornographers, etc.) Go around the room until everyone has added a "sinner", then continue reading the passage.
** Icebreaker - are you a cat person? Why or why not? **
** Reflecting on Chris' South Dakota cat story - share a time when you pre-judged someone and you were wrong about them." **
In order to care for others "out there", we need to remove our judgmental glasses. Read Matthew 9:35-38.

1. When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them. ** Do you have compassion for the people "out there?" If so, what you are doing to show that compassion? If not, why not? **
Part of evaluating how we see people is realizing that Jesus died for "them" as well. Read Romans 3:22-24.

2. Is it difficult for you to believe that there isn't a sliding scale of sin (ie, that God sees all sins equally)?

3. How should this verse affect the way we view and interact with others who aren't "like us?"
Once we break down the walls we have when viewing others, we need to start building relationships. Read Mark 2:15.

4. Where do you have interactions with people outside of MC3 (non-family)?

5. How can you develop a relationship with them? What makes it difficult?

6. What is the benefit of personally caring for them vs. caring for them through an MC3 event?
Prayer 4U
Get into groups of 3 or 4. Share one thing in this group that they can be praying for you this week. (but not praying for them right now)
Guided Prayer (leader, include the following in your prayer time)

"God - give us eyes to see others the way you see them. Remove our judgmental lenses and let us have Christ-like compassion for those in our community. Remind us that you died to forgive us, and EVERYONE around us, of our sins - no matter what those sins may be. Give us the courage to build relationships with those who are different than us, in order to show them your love. Amen."
