“Think Like Jesus”

The question is WHO is shaping me?

Into WHAT kind of person am I being shaped?

Am I being shaped by the right INFLUENCER…JESUS?

“Cultural Christianity” is when people see themselves as Christians, but they’re living a watered down, counterfeit Christianity that looks more like the culture around them than the biblical definition of a Christian.”

George Barna refers to Cultural Christianity as “A spirituality that asks very little commitment of its followers while providing the comfort, convenience, and community they long for. This form of Christianity is not willing to surrender itself to the demands of discipleship and the ways of Jesus.”

Moral Relativism is the belief that "Something is morally right to do because people in the culture think it’s right to do."

The Goal of Discipleship is to THINK LIKE JESUS so that we are CONFORMED OR SHAPED into His image!

The passive part means that someone or something is DOING SOMETHING TO YOU. The imperative part of the command means YOUMUST NOT ALLOW them to do it.

How have my values, priorities, what I’m chasing and pursuing in this life, what I think, and how I talk been affected by the world I’m living in?

Have I started valuing and pursuing what the world values and pursues like: wealth, power, achievement, status, comfort, and pleasure without realizing it?

The passive part means I HAVE NO POWER to transform myself!

The imperative part means I have to ALLOW THE SPIRIT OF GOD to transform me.

Transformation requires me to SUBMIT to the work of the Spirit in my life.

The word Renewal in this verse means, “To take your mind back to what it was, what it’s supposed to be, rooted and grounded in The Jesus Way of Thinking.”

The goal of Discipleship is to BE TRANSFORMED!

The question is will you CHOOSE THE JESUS WAY allowing Jesus to mold you and shape you into the person He wants you to be? Will you allow Jesus to INFLUENCE of how you THINK, which will change how you ACT?

In what way(s) have you changed over the last year? Is there some kind of visible TRANSFORMATION you can point to in your life?

When you surrender to the Jesus Way “You will know God’s will and what to do.”
