Ruthless Trust:
A relentless reliance upon God that shows itself in how I live my life in every circumstance.
The Big Idea: The icon of ruthless trust is the Cross.
1. Ruthless trust is learned at the Cross
V18-24
- The Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God
- Christ crucified is a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles
- But to those whom God has called, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.V18-24

- Christ crucified is a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles
- But to those whom God has called, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
At the cross we meet the God who declares His love and commitment to us. You can trust someone who will die for you!
2. Wisdom and power come through the Cross
When we are confused, the greatest guidepost to seek is the Cross.
When we choose the cross, we choose wisdom and power.
3. Ruthless Trust Carries a Cross
John the Baptist: He must increase, I must decrease
Jesus: I am among you as one who serves.
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Response:
Choose the Cross (take communion)
