Throughout Scripture, the metaphor of trees runs strong. We are told to be "like a tree planted by streams of water" and Jesus said, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." Join us as we walk through the book of Ephesians looking at what it means to be "rooted and grounded in love."

Ephesians 5.1-6
Our faith is rooted in doing everything we can to be like Jesus.
The root calling of everyone who follows Jesus is to imitate Him.
Imitating Jesus means more than an ideal, it means action.
Self-indulgence over self-sacrifice means in our heart we have a worship problem.
Who we have been is what ought to spur our hearts to action.
We cannot meet Jesus and remain the same, He always calls us to change. What is the next step God has called you to today?
1) BELIEVE: take a step of obedience and surrender to a God who loves you enough to die for you.
2) BAPTISM: take a step of obedience and choose to shout to the world that Jesus is Lord through obedience in baptism!
3) Repent and Return: if you've been following an agenda other than Jesus', take a step of obedience and change that today!
4) BELONG: find out what it means to be a part of a bigger community at EDFBC and find where you belong here! https://bit.ly/EDFBCBelong
5) SERVE: take a step of obedience and live your calling by working towards God's Kingdom putting Jesus first and following His example of serving others!
6) GROW: take a step of obedience and choose to get involved and share your life with others. We've got tons of places you can live in community and grow to be more like Jesus that we'd love to get you connected to!
7) LIVE: living like Jesus means working towards His mission. We'd love to help you take a step of obedience to LIVE like Jesus today as you explore the mission He has called you to.
