The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.
http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveBottom Line: The church is an army of workers raising up more to do the work.
There is a shortage of workers not a shortage of opportunity.
The church's job is not to do the work but to raise up workers to do the work.
Maturity comes from doing the work, not the work being done for me.
START TALKING:
How did your parents raise you to know how to do the work of an adult versus doing all of the work for you?
When do you find that you do the same for your kids (if you have kids) or someone new that you work with? When does it seem easier in the short-term to do the work instead of raising them up to know how to do it themselves? What is lost if you do that?

START THINKING:
Read Matthew 9:35-38. What was the main theme of Jesus' teaching? Why did he perform healings and miracles?
What did Jesus see that broke his heart and moved him with compassion? What was his solution to the need that he saw?
There is a promise in Matthew 9:38. What is it? If we aren't seeing a great harvest, why is that the case according to this verse?

START SHARING:
Matthew 9:35-38 says that there is no shortage of opportunity for every church and every Christ follower to see a great harvest. The problem is there is a shortage of workers. What does verse 38 say to pray for? How is this different than what you normally pray for and what churches seem to normally pray for? How have you seen most churches and Christians prioritize things differently from what Jesus teaches us in this passage?
Read Ephesians 4:11-12. This passage gives the job description for all church leaders and Christians. How were you or have you been raised up to do the work of the ministry? Have you ever considered that you are gifted in this way? Why or why not? What keeps you from stepping into your giftedness?
Take the APEST survey below. Share your results with the microchurch. What does this help you consider may be the best way for you to be a worker for the Kingdom?

APEST Survey
Take this quick online assessment to help you discover which of the five-fold ministry gifts is most like you!

What can you do to help raise up others to do the work of the ministry?
What can you do to be raised up to be part of the army of workers that will reap the harvest?
The greatest work of the ministry is sharing your story with others who are far from God and helping them discover Jesus. What can you do this week to further build a relationship or to look for more opportunities to do that?

START PRAYING:
Pray that God will lead each of us to be raised up to do the work of the ministry and to raise up others to do the work of the ministry. Pray that God raises up an army of workers to do the work rather than waiting on the sidelines for the "professionals" to do it. Pray that we will see a great harvest among us as the workers are raised up!

Take a Next Step!
Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
