THE END OF THE BEGINNING

SCRIPTURE
“…And God will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. For He must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through His holy prophets.” Acts 3:17-21


A POSSIBLE TIMELINE

There are varying views on eschatology (metaphor, symbolic, literal, etc.). The following clear components are part of the end times, but details are unclear.

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing… They will say: “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. 2 Peter 3-10 (selected)



BEFORE TRIBULATION

Human History

Rapture of Christians (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

The Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command…the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17



DURING TRIBULATION

Seal Judgments (Revelation 6:1-17; 8:1-2)

1/ Antichrist
This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Daniel 9:26; 2 Thessalonians 2:2-12; Revelation 6:2

4/ Famine and Plagues and Beasts


5/ Martyred Christians


6/ Earthquake and Asteroids
“I watched as He opened the sixth seal (of judgment). There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black…the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drops from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind…every mountain and island was removed from its place. Revelation 6:12-14

False Prophet Appears (Revelation 13:11-18)
The second beast was given power to give breath to the image (statue) of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. Revelation 13:15

Something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned to blood, a third of all living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. Revelation 8:8-9

The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. Revelation 11:10

Bowl Judgments (Revelation 16:2-21)

1/ Sores
Ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast. Revelation 6:2


2/ Seas to Blood


3/ Rivers to Blood


4/ Scorching Heat
The sun was given power to scorch people with fire. Revelation 16:8-9


5/ Complete Global Darkness


6/ Euphrates Dries Up


7/ Great Earthquake & Hail
Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth… Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. Revelation 16:17-21

People… cursed the God of heaven because of their pains… but they refused to repent of what they had done. Revelation 16:10-11



Battle of Armageddon

“Then I saw the beast (Antichrist) and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against one sitting on the horse and his army (Jesus).” Revelation 19:19; 16:12-16; 17:14-20

AFTER TRIBULATION

Christ Returns (Revelation 20:4-6)

Antichrist and False Prophet in Hell (Revelation 19:20)

Satan in Bottomless Pit (Revelation 20:1-3)
