How to Live as Christians...
Being Tech-Wise in a Technopoly-World
Being Tech-Wise in a Technopoly-World
I will offer my tech, in love, as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
I will protect my eyes and heart—as well as others’—from using technology lustfully.
I will seek to discern how technology always overpromises and underdelivers. [I won’t eat the fruit of tech willy-nilly.]
I will contemplate how my use of tech should please the Lord—displaying His light—and expose the darkness of the world. [I will swim against the tech current of the world.]
I will use my time wisely when it comes to how I use and consume technology. [I know to be tech-wise is to be time-wise.]
Ten Tech-Wise Suggestions:
1. Develop what it means to have and live a wise life with technology.
2. Center your home around things that promote creativity rather than consumption.
3. Sabbath from devices.
4. Wake up before your devices, and put them to bed before you go to bed.
5. Set adequate boundaries for screen time.
6. Use technology for a purpose.
7. Car time should be conversation time.
8. Give open access of your technology to your spouse and your parents.
9. Learn to engage and entertain yourself without always needing the amplification of technology.
10. Family is much more important than any device. They are the priority. Learn to be fully present when you are with them.

I will not foolishly get drunk on technology but will wisely seek to be fully controlled by the Spirit of God.
I will thank the Lord for the goodness of technology and will use it for others’ good.
