Sticks and Stones

· Words have a Divine beginning!
God created, formed, and shaped the universe through the power of…His words.
Jesus’ teachings, parables, and commands brought healing, forgiveness, hope, and salvation.
1. Our words have the power to build or break!
What kind of words are you speaking?
What kind of words are you speaking…are you building or breaking?
Our words shape the atmosphere around us; they influence our families, friends, and workplaces.
2. Our words reveal the condition of our hearts!
If your heart is anchored in love, grace, and gratitude, your words will reflect God’s character and heart!
· What are your words revealing about your heart?

· Are you quick to criticize or quick to bless?

· Do you gossip and slander or speak life?

· Are your words negative or life giving?

· Do you find satisfaction in pointing out others’ faults or highlighting their strengths?
My daily prayer is…to align my heart and my words with God’s heart and will.
3. Our words have the power to heal and restore!

· Pause…pray…speak!
A moment of pause and prayer can prevent a lifetime of regret!

· Be intentional with your words!

· Surround yourself with Godly friends who provide you with accountability!

· When your words cause pain…apologize!
A sincere, heartfelt apology can restore what reckless words have broken.
4. Our words glorify God!
When we speak hope to the hopeless, mercy to the guilty, and forgiveness to the lost, we echo God’s loving and redemptive voice!
