Give Online

The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.

Bottom Line: Jesus wants me to give my best.
1. Jesus pays attention to giving.
2. Jesus judges giving.
3. Jesus judges the proportion not the portion.
START TALKING:

What are examples of you giving your best to something, and that was truly all that mattered to you or made you proud, even if your best wasn't nearly as good as someone else's?
4. Jesus wants me to give my best because He gave me his best.
START THINKING:

Read mark 12:41-44. What was Jesus most impressed with in this story?

What does it say about the widow and her faith that she gave ALL she had? Do you think this was easy or hard for her to do? Why?

Read Malachi 3:10. If we assume that this religious widow knew this promise from the Old Testament, how would that help us understand her faith and why she was so willing to be unusually generous?

What do you think the disciples would have expected Jesus to be impressed with? What bigger principles about Jesus does this illustrate about His nature and character?

if you were to retell this story to someone you know today in a modern context, how would you tell it?
START SHARING:

When did you first trust God with your tithes? What led you to try it? What made it hard for you or what made it easy for you?

What are some of the most obvious excuses that enter in for you (or others) when you are convicted to be generous and tithe?

Read Galatians 1:5 and John 3:16. How did Jesus go first in giving His best? How does this help you eliminate the excuses that could pop up and lead you into temptation to not give?

When have you experienced the promise of Malachi 3:10 coming true? How did you see or how have you seen God throw open the floodgates?
START DOING

What is your next step in giving Jesus your best? How can you give him the best of your time and talents? How can you give him the best of your tithes?

Read 2 Corinthians 9:11 and focus on the last phrase. Who do you need to thank God for, that because of their generosity you experienced Jesus? Who do you hope will one day thank God for you because of your generosity?
START PRAYING:

Pray for each other to take the next step we each shared above. Pray that many lives will be changed because of our generosity, Pray that we will each experience Jesus even more as we trust him with our best.

Take a Next Step!

Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
