What is the purpose of love?
Agape love is the key to the gospel and the key forgiveness.
Agape love exists for mercy, and to give grace.
Phileo love cannot forgive, only a radical agape love can forgive.
Agape love = Radical, sacrificial, divine, unconditional, keeps no records of wrong; the highest form of love.
Phileo love = Brotherly love. The love of mutual connection, shared values, or personal enjoyment of another.
Hebrew חֶסֶד — Often translated as lovingkindness, steadfast love, or covenant love/loyalty.
"I agape love you" = I can unconditionally forgive you and pray favor over you.
“I phileo love you” = I can conditionally forgive you, void of favor.
Mercy (Hebrew) רַחֲמִים = Compassion, womb-like love. Deep, tender compassion, often tied to parental or divine love.
Mercy (Hebrew) חֶסֶד = Loyal love, covenant faithfulness. Mercy expressed through covenant loyalty and lovingkindness.
Mercy (English) = Compassion for one in distress; withholding deserved judgement and showing compassion instead.

Rechem (Hebrew) רֶחֶם = "womb" — suggesting a deep, nurturing, motherly compassion.
Grace (Hebrew) חֵן = Favor, charm, unmerited favor; finding acceptance before God.
Grace (Hebrew) חָנַן = To show grace, to favor. (Verb) To be gracious; to bestow favor or mercy.
Grace (English) = Favor or blessing freely given; receiving what is not deserved-the gift of salvation.

Grace is the relational posture of God toward His people.
God's grace is His goodness.
God's grace follows His mercy.
Man's mercy is void of grace. Man's mercy comes with control.
Self-reflection Questions:
1. What conditions do we place on our love for God?
2. How have we received mercy with condition and not allowed God's grace?
3. Where in our lives do we operate in a conditional mercy and void of grace?

Love exists for forgiveness to be possible.
A demonic spirit of cancel culture is entering the church, manifesting as the accuser of the brethren.
Grace emphasizes acceptance and empowerment.
Mercy emphasizes pity and forgiveness.

Fear of the Lord = A holy reverence and awe for God that leads to worship, obedience, wisdom, and humility.
Spirit of Fear (Ungodly fear) = A crippling, tormenting fear that comes from unbelief, lies, or spiritual attack. It leads to paralysis, anxiety, timidity, and a lack of trust in God.
When love is conditional, individuals often experience fear that failing to meet conditions will lead to rejection or abandonment.
