Reflection Questions:
1. What’s the worst meteorological storm that you’ve ever been caught in?
2. When is a time when you felt like you were caught in the storms of life?
3. During that time, did you ask any of the questions we mentioned Sunday.
a. “Where is God in all of this?”
b. “Why is he letting this happen?”
c. “Why isn’t he doing something about it?”
d. “Why isn’t he doing what I want him to do about it?”
4. On Sunday, we talked about the impact that being in a storm of life can have on us. #1 We believe the worst outcome is the most likely outcome. #2 We question God’s character. #3 we develop spiritual amnesia. Which of these 3 are you most prone to slip into?
5. On Sunday, we said that if the disciples had the right to be upset at Jesus because he’s great enough and powerful enough to do something about the storm that their facing, then they have to be willing to acknowledge that Jesus is great enough and powerful enough to have reasons that they don’t understand for letting the storm happen. What are your thoughts about that?
6. On Sunday, we said that wise people #1 Recognize that they are in a storm. #2 Ask about faith. #3 Pray about it. What did we mean by each? Which of these three would you do well to work on most?
7. Why were the disciples terrified after the storm settled, and what did that imply about Jesus?
