In a world running at the speed of burnout, many of us are longing for something deeper than just belief, we want a way of life that works. In this 5-week series, we’ll explore five core practices that shaped the life of Jesus and can reshape ours: immersing ourselves in Scripture, connecting with God through worship and prayer, embracing rest through Sabbath, walking in deep community, and living on mission through everyday acts of love. These aren’t religious checklists, they’re rhythms of grace that lead us back to wholeness, purpose, and joy. Come discover how to move from belief to practice, and from theory to transformation, one rhythm at a time.

Sabbath as a Blessing

1. The Sabbath is the first thing God calls holy; not a mountain, not a person, not a temple… but time.

2. Before sin ever entered the world, God wove a rhythm into the cosmos: six days of work, one day to stop, rest, delight, and worship.

3. Sabbath wasn’t a command to obey, it was a gift to embrace.
Sabbath as a Protest

1. Sabbath becomes law, but not as punishment, as protection.

2. In Egypt, Israel was forced to make bricks without rest. Sabbath became a weekly act of defiance, a refusal to live as a slave to culture’s demands.

3. In a consumer-driven, burnout-encouraging society, Sabbath is a declaration: “I am not a machine. My family is not a production line. We live by grace.”
Sabbath as Healing

1. Jesus shows that Sabbath is not about restriction, but restoration.

2. Religious people turn a gift into a burden. Jesus reclaims it as a day of healing, not just halting.

3. Sabbath is a space for reclaiming our humanity, not managing religious anxiety.
Week 3- The Rhythm of Rest: Sabbath

1. What if the most spiritual thing you could do this week was take a nap, go for a slow walk, laugh at the table, and remember: you are not what you produce?

2. The world runs on “more.” God’s people live by “enough.

3. Sabbath isn’t just a break from the week; it’s a rehearsal for eternity.

Sabbath Anchors

1. STOP – Lay down work, errands, emails, and chores.
2. REST – Sleep in, take naps, go on slow walks. Let your body and soul breathe.
3. DELIGHT – Feast, play, laugh, enjoy nature, create beauty.
4. WORSHIP – Read Scripture, pray, reflect, attend church, sing, or journal.
