Question:
Are you a patient person?
Definition:
Ability to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Question:
What are you waiting for?
Main Point:
Waiting with peace takes...
1. Restraining the rash response.
Subpoint:
A hasty reaction can disrupt God's plans.
Questions while waiting:
· Is there a lesson to learn?
· Is there a job to do?
· Is there a place to go?
Quote:
“God is always doing ten thousand things in your life, and you may be aware of three of them.”
- John Piper
Subpoint:
Find the purpose in the waiting season.
Main Point:
Waiting with peace takes...
A guiding principle.
Subpoint:
Where I look determines what I think, which informs how I feel.
Journal Entry:
“The funds are now exhausted. But I believe God will provide. Many times we have been brought low, but we have never been entirely without. The Lord will provide—Jehovah Jireh.”
- George Müller
Journal Entry:
“The children are dressed and ready for school. There is not a thing in the house to eat.
I gave myself to prayer.
The doorbell rang. A baker stood there.
'Mr. Müller,' he said, 'I couldn't sleep last night. Somehow I felt you didn’t have bread for this morning. The Lord told me to get up at 2 a.m. and bake some fresh bread and bring it over.'
Shortly after, the milkman knocked. His cart had broken down outside the orphanage. He said, ‘The milk will spoil by the time the wheel is fixed. Can you use it?’
This morning, the children had their breakfast.”
- George Müller
Subpoint:
Keep waiting well.

Giving at The Vineyard

We don't pass a plate for tithes and offerings here at Vineyard, but we do believe that giving back through our finances is an important way to worship Jesus.
