Authority - the legal power or right to command or to act; also, the authority of a prince over subjects, or of parents over children (Webster’s Dictionary, 1828).
The word commonly used for “authority” in the New Testament is referred to as delegated influence or delegated power; it is translated elsewhere in the scripture as jurisdiction (Strong’s Expository Dictionary).
The best way to define authority, then, is simply delegated power.
Jesus was given authority over the enemy in his own life, over demon spirits & sickness in others' lives, over the earth (Gen. 1:28), even over the devil himself!

Authority over the devil is important! It is what prevents him from killing, stealing and destroying freely in people's lives, including our own.
Through Jesus we have been set free from satan's authority and now we have authority over him; we need to use it!

3 Thoughts about Using Your Authority:
1. Don't give the devil an inch in your life.
Stay in the circle of love so that satan can't invade your life.
Resist when satan attempts to take from you what belongs to you (health, harvest, family, etc. = prosperity).

God has given you the ability to reign like a king over the enemy in this world.
