Jesus In The Middle Of Our Storms – Mark 6:45-56

Jesus Knows Every Detail About Every Storm We Face (Mark 6:45-48)

Jesus Walks on Water
45 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and head across the lake to Bethsaida, while he sent the people home.46 After telling everyone good-bye, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. 47 Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land.48 He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morningJesus came toward them, walking on the water. He intended to go past them, Mark 6:45-48 NLT

- Jesus has never been indecisive about the directions for our lives.

- We can find hope in our darkest and lowest circumstances and situations, knowing that Jesus has prayed for us.

- Jesus is very aware of whatever we are going through or struggling with. He sees and knows everything were going through.

- Remember, If you know Him and He is your Savior…He is in you and will, “work all things out”…maybe not the way we want it but for our good…every time.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believersin harmony with God’s own will.28 And we know that God causes everything to work togetherfor the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:26-28 NLT

Jesus Is With Us In Every Storm (Mark 6:48-52)

48 He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morningJesus came toward them, walking on the water. He intended to go past them,49 but when they saw him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking he was a ghost.50 They were all terrified when they saw him.
But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!”51 Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed,52 for they still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in. Mark 6:48 52 NLT

- There’s no storm so big that it intimidates Jesus from being in it and walking you and I through it.

- If you know who Jesus is…you will be confident when storms come and go. If you don’t…get to know Him and trust Him by being in His Word and being around others who can model for you who he is in the storms you face.

- If your heart has been hurt or broken and you have turned away from Jesus…who He is, what He does and how he does it…then you will always struggle with trusting Him never understand why He does what he does…”for your good”.

Jesus Can And Will Use Our Storms (Mark 6:53-56)

53 After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret. They brought the boat to shore54 and climbed out. The people recognized Jesus at once,55 and they ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was.56 Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.Mark 6:53-56 NLT

- Don’t overlook the fact that Jesus will use your storms to change the course and direction of your daily life.

- Believers who believe they deserve special treatment or that god owes them something…will always miss what Jesus is doing in their lives and the lives of others..., but needy people know Him when they see Him.

- Jesus always used the difficult circumstances in the lives of the disciples to minister to the lives of others. And He uses us and our circumstances to do the same.

- Why? Because without Him…we screw it up and can do nothing.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NLT
