The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.
http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveBottom Line: My passion is unique to my past.
1. What have been my passions?
2. What has been my pain?
START TALKING:
Who is the most passionate person you know about something that they do? What are the roots of those passions? Why did they become so passionate about it?
What is something that YOU are passionate about that has been a passion of yours for a long time? What got you interested in this from the very beginning? What were the roots for your own passion?

3. What have I been good at?
START THINKING:
Read Colossians 3:1-2. What do you think these verses mean for the things that fire you up or get you excited? Do they mean you should completely abandon those if they aren't spiritual? Or is it possible that these verses teach how we can use those passions for more than merely earthly purposes?
Read Colossians 3:12-13. The word "bear" also means to "suffer." Re-read the verse using that word instead. How does this help you understand it better? How does this connect pain to passion?
Read Colossians 3:23-24. Why is this so important, considering how most of your waking hours will be spent throughout your life? What does it teach about how you can live a life of worship? How can this also help you to discover your passion and your calling? And what does it mean if you are in a work situation that prevents you from doing this for some reason?

START SHARING:
When you look back over your life, what are the things, interests, or causes that have fired you up, stirred your heart, or gotten you excited? How can you use this to lead to your calling?
When has someone suffered with you, and they were able to because of their own past? How did this impact you?
What is your own past pain that causes you to want to (or could led you to) suffer with someone else who is going through similar pain now? How could your past passion, that maybe you have shied away from or haven't wanted to revisit, actually be used to help you discover your calling to make a difference in the Kingdom and in the lives of other people?
When you think about your work or how you have spent a lot of time in your life, what have you been good at? What have other people often complimented about you when you do certain things? Don't be shy! Being honest about the gifts that God has given you will help you discover your calling! Instead of thinking about what you want to be good at or think you are good at, what have others consistently complimented or noticed? This could be revealing your calling!

START DOING
Each person in the microchurch share needs that you have seen over the past week (or go back over the needs you shared in last week's discussion) and apply these questions to each one:
1. What passions from my past could help me feel compassion about it or get motivated to meet it?
2. What pain from my past helps me empathize with the need?
3. What have I been good at or am I good at that could help meet the need?
If none of those questions have answers, it's likely not your calling to do something about it. But if you have answers to one or more of those questions, it could be something the Spirit is leading you to!
Now do the same as a group. What are needs we see collectively among our immediate community? Maybe one or two of the needs shared by individuals. Among the group, answer these questions:
1. What passions from among our group get us excited or motivated as a faith community?
2. What pains do some of us share, or that all of us can relate to, that could help drive us to meet this need?
3. What are the gifts and talents among our faith community that would help us to meet this need?
These answers will help our microchurch to find our mission, our purpose, and our calling!

START PRAYING:
Take a moment to pray for each person in the microchurch to discover their passion and their calling by being aware of their past passions, pains, and gifts and talents. Pray that God would lead our microchurch to discovering our own passion, purpose, and calling to have a mission beyond simply meeting together but to impacting those who are far from God!

Take a Next Step!
Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
