Submission is not weakness. It’s a harnessed strength. For example, Jesus submitted to His spiritual authority in the Garden of Gethsemane. Many women reject a spiritual covering at home but accept a secular covering at work.

SAFEGUARDING YOUR MARRIAGE
There is no perfect marriage. Do not allow an ideal to become an idol.
1/ Safeguard your marriage by getting things in order.
Manny Arango says peace is not the solution to chaos. Order is the answer.
(Submit) to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. (And) let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 5:21-25, 33
We believe women are equal in value to men but created for different roles.
The beautiful order of God has been corrupted by prideful, cultural brainwashing.
Husbands must be in order.
The head of every man is Christ, the head of the woman is man. 1 Corinthians 11:3
Leadership isn’t an entitlement to be served, but a responsibility to serve.
Mutual submission is the way of the Lord, until there is an impasse.
Wives must be in order.
Submission is not weakness. It’s a harnessed strength. For example, Jesus submitted to His spiritual authority in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Many women reject a spiritual covering at home but accept a secular covering at work.
A wife should never withhold submission and a husband should never demand it.
2/ Safeguard your marriage by showing honor.
Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10
What we say matters.
We do not drift towards kindness but towards contempt.
“The tongue exists to reveal our hearts.” John Calvin
How we say it matters.
In communication, tone is everything.
3/ Safeguard your marriage through support and encouragement.
4/ Safeguard your marriage by increasing intimacy.
Relational intimacy should be a priority.
Most husbands want eros. Most wives desire agape. But the bridge to both is phileo!
Sexual intimacy should be a priority.
5/ Safeguard your marriage by building boundaries.
Parents and in-laws should have boundaries.
Children should have boundaries.
6/ Safeguard your marriage through intentional effort.
The “Love Languages” are a great way to express love.
7/ Safeguard your marriage by communicating clearly.
Communication is about listening and speaking.
“Unspoken expectations lead to frustrations.” Pastor Darren

__________ is patient. __________ is kind.
“A successful marriage is made up of two good forgivers.” Billy Graham
9/ Safeguard your marriage by being transparent.

If you don’t make each other a priority, nobody else will.
