The Lord is requiring goodness!
Goodness is the moral excellence and virtue that mirrors the nature and character of God. Goodness is the intentional pursuit of right over wrong and the unwavering opposition to evil. Through the Holy Spirit, it results in righteous behavior, generosity, kindness, and integrity.
Hebrew (tov): טּוֹב – good, pleasant, agreeable, morally excellent.
Greek (agathōsynē): {ah-Gatho-SooNay} – intrinsic goodness, uprightness of heart and life; benevolence actively shown
GREEK Agathos {ah-Gatho-SooNay} Good, beneficial, virtuous, the deliberate preference of right to wrong, the firm and persistent resistance of all moral evil, and the choosing and following of all moral good.
