In “Living Water,” we explore the biblical command and gift of being filled with the Spirit. This message clarifies common misconceptions about the will of God and Spirit-filled living. Using foundational scriptures from Ephesians, Acts, and John, we learn that being filled with the Holy Spirit is not a one-time event, but a continuous lifestyle. Jesus invites us to drink deeply of His living water—His Spirit—which refreshes, empowers, and transforms. The infilling of the Spirit brings boldness, joy, and spiritual insight, and it's available to every believer who seeks. This message reminds us: Don't settle for dry religion—be filled, be overflowing, and live Spirit-led.
Living Water
I. Understanding the Will of God Is to Be Filled with the Spirit

Ephesians 5:17-19 – We are commanded to know God’s will.
It is not a mystery: the Word and the Spirit reveal His will.
Takeaway 1:Being filled with the Holy Spirit is God’s revealed will for every believer.

II. Being Filled Produces Expression

Ephesians 5:18-20 – Being filled leads to speaking, singing, gratitude.
The Amplified: “Ever be filled” = continuous infilling.

Takeaway 2:Spirit-filled people express joy, thankfulness, and boldness in word and song.

III. Don’t Be Misled by Labels

Being "Spirit-filled" is not a badge or one-time experience.
A person may speak in tongues but still walk in the flesh.

Takeaway 3:Being full of the Spirit is about daily surrender, not religious reputation.

IV. Tongues: The Initial Doorway, Not the Final Goal

Acts 2:4 and 1 Corinthians 12 – Distinguish personal prayer language from public gift.

All believers can and should speak in tongues.

Takeaway 4:Speaking in tongues is the entrance to deeper spiritual things, not the ceiling.

V. Fresh Filling Is Ongoing

Acts 4:31 – Same people filled again.
Don't live dry or spiritually empty.

Takeaway 5:We need regular refilling to live strong, bold, and effective Christian lives.

VI. Jesus Offers Living Water

John 4 – The woman at the well, a conversation of natural thirst and spiritual need.
Jesus is tired, thirsty—fully human—but offers eternal refreshment.
Hebrews 4:15 – He understands us.

Takeaway 6:Jesus knows our human needs and invites us to be filled with His Living Water—the Holy Spirit.

Additional Reference to Be Filled:
Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)

DAY 1: Are You Thirsty?
📖 Scripture:John 4:10 – “Jesus answered and said to her, ‘If you knew the gift of God... He would have given you living water.’”
💧 Devotion:
We all experience seasons of spiritual dryness—times when our souls long for something more. Jesus identified this longing in the woman at the well and offered her living water—not just religion or rules, but a relationship and refreshment that fills the soul.
🕊️ The Holy Spirit is the source of this living water. He fills the deep places in us where no person, possession, or success can reach. Ask yourself today: Am I thirsty for the real presence of God?
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, awaken in me a thirst for Your presence. Fill the dry places with Your living water.

DAY 2: Be Being Filled
📖 Scripture:Ephesians 5:18 (AMP) – “Be ever filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.”
💧 Devotion:
The original Greek for “be filled” is a continuous action—keep on being filled. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just fill us once; He wants to continually refresh, guide, and empower us daily.
🕊️ Just as we need to drink water often to stay hydrated, we must seek the Spirit daily to stay spiritually alive. Being filled isn’t optional for the believer—it’s essential.
🙏 Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I invite You to fill me anew today. I surrender to Your flow in every part of my life.

DAY 3: Power with Purpose
📖 Scripture:Acts 4:31 – “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”
💧 Devotion:
Being filled with the Spirit always results in action. In Acts, the disciples were filled, and immediately they spoke with boldness. The Spirit doesn’t fill us just for personal blessing—but for outward mission.
🕊️ Want boldness to share your faith, live with integrity, or stand firm in truth? Let Him fill you with power, not fear.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, fill me with boldness and courage. Let Your Spirit overflow from my life to others.

DAY 4: Tongues and the Overflow
📖 Scripture:Acts 2:4 – “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
💧 Devotion:
Tongues are not weird—they're worship. They are a spiritual overflow, not a requirement but a result of being filled. Tongues build up the believer (1 Corinthians 14:4) and release heavenly language in prayer.
🕊️ Don’t get stuck on the outward sign—seek the inward fullness. When the Spirit fills, He overflows in different ways, including spiritual language.
🙏 Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I open my heart to every gift You have for me. Let my life and lips overflow with praise.

DAY 5: Stay in the Flow
📖 Scripture:Ephesians 5:19-20 (NKJV) – “Speaking to one another in psalms... singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord... giving thanks always.”
💧 Devotion:
A Spirit-filled life is a worship-filled life. Staying filled isn’t about striving but staying connected—through praise, prayer, and gratitude. Worship keeps us aligned with the Spirit's flow.
🕊️ Let your day be filled with melody and thankfulness. Worship is the well we draw from to stay filled.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, I choose praise today. Let my heart be a place of ongoing worship and thankfulness.
