El Shaddai
Foundation text:
This is where God first introduces Himself to Abram, who later becomes Abraham, God’s covenant Man.
POINT 1.
Abram – a Hebrew boy’s name meaning “father of exaltation,” “father of nations,” “high father.”

What had been a prophetic declaration had become a shameful mockery.

No matter what you’ve done and what’s happened to you, God is not too far to introduce Himself to you, your children, your loved one, friend, etc.
POINT 2:
No matter where you are, God is nearby.
a. God introduces or announces Himself as El Shaddai only 7 times.

b. By His Spirit, He speaks for Himself and establishes His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob. This is the most frequently used name for God before the giving of the Law at Sinai.

c. The combination of El (Almighty) with Shaddai describes the tender heart of God, one who cares for His beloved ones.

d. To a 99-year-old man, God All-Sufficient was a revelation that would sustain Abraham.

e. El is one of the words of God. Shaddai is derived from the root word for Shaddayim, which means "breast."

I. “God the Nurturer of Babies [the Breasted One]”

II. “The God who is more than enough”
POINT 3:
God invites Abram to live in harmony with Him and be reliable. Just like Jesus did…
a. God requires us to be “trustworthy” as well.

b. An essential ingredient to any relationship is trust. God is no different. Yet He loves us unconditionally.

c. Life with Him does not promise a life without problems but that He will deliver us out of them all.

d. The more He can trust us, the more He displays His “all sufficiency” in our lives.
POINT 4:
God introduces Himself to Isaac:
POINT 5:
God introduces Himself to Jacob:
POINT 6:
God introduces Himself to Moses as both, Yahweh and El Shaddai
a. God is everything you need AND

b. God is there in your time of need

POINT 7:
Jesus: Now, every name that God was, Jesus is… Elohim, El Elion, El Shaddai, Yahweh, Jehovah Nissi, Rapha, Rohi, Shalom, all that HE was, Jesus is as I AM.
a. Colossians 2:9
“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
Jesus fully embodies the sufficiency, power, and nature of El Shaddai in human form.
b. Confirms who He is as I AM
a. Colossians 2:9
“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
Jesus fully embodies the sufficiency, power, and nature of El Shaddai in human form.

b. Confirms who He is as I AM - El Shaddai, Yahweh, all the names of God fulfilled in One.
POINT 8:
In the New Testament, God is not directly referred to by the Hebrew name "El Shaddai" (אֵלשַׁדַּי), which means "God Almighty" or "All-Sufficient God," as He is in the Old Testament (e.g., Genesis 17:1). However, the character and attributes of El Shaddai are clearly demonstrated through His actions, Christ's ministry, and the writings of the apostles.
a. Jesus embodies the power and sufficiency of God:

b. Jesus reveals His identity as “the resurrection and the life”, expressing divine power over death.

c. God is portrayed as El Shaddai — the One who supplies abundantly.

** In the Book of Revelation (God Almighty)
** Here we see the Greek Translation of El Shaddai: “God Almighty” is used multiple times, from the Greek “Pantokratōr” (παντοκράτωρ), meaning Pan = all; Kratos – power, might, strength, dominion. All-Powerful or Almighty, mirroring the idea of El Shaddai. Not only in who He is, but also in what He supplies for His children.
POINT 9:
The legacy continues.
POINT 10:
Romans 4:1-8,13,18-25 Voice
In light of all of this, what should we say about our ancestor Abraham? [2] If Abraham was made right by performing certain works, then he would surely have something to brag about. Right? Not before the Creator God, [3] because as the Scriptures say, "Abraham believed God and trusted in His promises, so God counted it to his favor as righteousness." [4] Now, when you work a job, do your wages come as a gift or as compensation for your work? It is most certainly not a gift-you are only paid what you have earned. [5] So for the person who does not work, but instead trusts in the One who makes the ungodly right, his faith is counted for him as righteousness. [6] Remember the psalm where David speaks about the benefits that come to the person whom God credits with righteousness apart from works? He said, [7] Blessed are those whose wrongs have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered. [8] Blessed is the person whose sin the Lord will not take into account. [13] The promise given to Abraham and his children, that one day they would inherit the world, did not come because he followed the rules of the law. It came as a result of his right standing before God, a standing he obtained through faith. [18] Against the odds, Abraham's hope grew into full-fledged faith that he would turn out to be the father of many nations, just as God had promised when He said, "That's how many your descendants will be." [19] His faith did not fail, although he was well aware that his impotent body, after nearly 100 years, was as good as dead and that Sarah's womb, too, was dead. [20] In spite of all this, his faith in God's promise did not falter. In fact, his faith grew as he gave glory to God [21] because he was supremely confident that God could deliver on His promise. [22] This is why, you see, God saw his faith and counted him as righteous; this is how he became right with God. [23] The story of how faith was credited to Abraham was not recorded for him and him alone, [24] but was written for all of us who would one day be credited for having faith in God, the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the realm of the dead. [25] He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and raised so that we might be made right with God.

a. You are God’s child and there’s nothing you can do about it.

b. You were made righteous because you have faith in God, nothing else.

c. You couldn’t earn it; therefore, you can’t lose it. You can only deny it.

d. Your faith can never outgrow God’s promises

e. It’s not what you did but because of who He is… the One that loves you and has everything that you need.
POINT 11:
Romans 8:29-39 Voice
From the distant past, His eternal love reached into the future. You see, He knew those who would be His one day, and He chose them beforehand to be conformed to the image of His Son so that Jesus would be the firstborn of a new family of believers, all brothers and sisters. As for those He chose beforehand, He called them to a different destiny so that they would experience what it means to be made right with God and share in His glory. [31] So what should we say about all of this? If God is on our side, then tell me: whom should we fear? [32] If He did not spare His own Son, but handed Him over on our account, then don't you think that He will graciously give us all things with Him? [33] Can anyone be so bold as to level a charge against God's chosen? Especially since God's verdict of "not guilty" has already been declared. [34] Who has the authority to condemn? Jesus the Anointed who died, but more importantly, conquered death when He was raised to sit at the right hand of God where He pleads on our behalf. [35] So who can separate us? What can come between us and the love of God's Anointed? Can troubles, hardships, persecution, hunger, poverty, danger, or even death? The answer is, absolutely nothing. [36] As the psalm says, On Your behalf, our lives are endangered constantly; we are like sheep awaiting slaughter. [37] But no matter what comes, we will always taste victory through Him who loved us. [38] For I have every confidence that nothing-not death, life, heavenly messengers, dark spirits, the present, the future, spiritual powers, [39] height, depth, nor any created thing-can come between us and the love of God revealed in the Anointed, Jesus our Lord.
a. Time never existed with God. He knew you before you knew yourself.

b. God seeks conformity and companionship that’s constant.

c. If you are “in Christ” then your future is bright.

d. God intends for you to “share” in His Glory, but it requires a great exchange.
