Give Online

The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.

Bottom Line: God's calling is unlike any other calling.
Calling requires closeness to God.
Calling won't make sense.
Calling requires Holy Spirit power.
Calling requires bold faith.
START TALKING:

Think about an experience you have had that was unlike any other before it - a food you tasted, a team you cheered for, an accomplishment you were part of - and think about the various ingredients it took for that to be unlike any other. What were they?
START THINKING:

Read Luke 1:26-28. Put yourself in Mary's shoes and imagine this happened to you. What would you think and feel as this is happening? Would you think this was a prank call?! Why or why not?

What was the reason that Mary received this call, according to what the angel told her?

Read Luke 1:29-30. What does Mary's reaction and the angel's response tell us about what Mary thought about this call? Why is it important to really understand this moment and not take it for granted because the story may be so familiar to us?
START SHARING:

Why do you think closeness to God, as we find out was true about Mary, is the first ingredient to hearing and answering the call from God? How does this help to know whether the call we think we are answering is really from God or not?

What are the ways or disciplines that you have found are most helpful to you to grow closer to God every day?

Read Luke 1:34.. When have you had this response to something you felt God calling you to? What made you feel like what you sensed Him calling you to was impossible or didn't make sense? What did you do in response and how did it grow your faith?

Read Luke 1:35. The angel responded to Mary in the same way the He will respond to each of us when we answer His call that doesn't make sense - you don't have to do it! The HOLY SPIRIT will do it! When have you experienced this? What keeps you from experiencing this more? What helps you to better understand the Spirit and experience His power?
START DOING:

What will you do this week to:

- Be close to God?
- Be open to the call not making sense?
- Experience Holy Spirit power?
- Practice bold faith?

Share how you have and how you will answer the call to:

- Salvation.
- Sanctification.
- Service.

Come back next week as we get very practical with how to know what your call to service is!
START PRAYING:

Pray for each person in the micro church to begin hearing and answering the calling of God on their life. First for salvation, then for sanctification, and finally for service in some way. Pray that we would be a community that challenges each other to experience a calling from God that is unlike any other calling we have ever experienced.

Take a Next Step!

Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
