“The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.” Matthew Henry

THE WONDER OF A GODLY WOMAN

SCRIPTURE
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man (Adam) should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:18;21-23

The word for “rib” is the same as “beam” that was used in Solomon’s Temple.

May our daughters be like graceful pillars. Psalm 144:12

Women are pillars of a society, but not in the way the culture has defined.

Christians believe women are created in the image of God. Women are equal to men in value. And women are uniquely created to serve a different role than men.

“The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.” Matthew Henry
