The Snare is such a treacherous design. Picture this... the bird is baited in only to be "snared" by a wire around its foot or neck. Immediately it realizes it is trapped, so its first instinct is to fly away from the danger. But the snare's grip only becomes tighter and tighter with every beat of its wings. The bird fights and fights but can't get free. Out of the bird's own desire for freedom, the web of entanglement grows and eventually wins. The bird can't free itself from the snare. Trying only makes it worse. Freedom requires outside help.
