“I no longer see men as I used to see them. I see them now with a Christian eye. I see them as the dupes and the victims and the slaves of sin and Satan and of the way of the world.”

Key Theme:
Jesus offers life and wisdom, a state of blessedness, that can only be found if we come to him with certain character qualities which lead to beautiful promises.
Key Application:
Examine your heart and posture before God. Are you living in the "state of blessedness?" It is about BEING the kind of person Jesus calls blessed - if you are not that kind of person, cry out to him.
Key Verses:
Matthew 5:1-12
Key Questions:
1. Am I spiritually poor or rich?
2. Do I truly hunger and thirst for righteousness, or am I more focused on seeking comfort, success, or happiness?
3. Is my conduct a natural byproduct of this character? If not, what character qualities do you feel are still left un-surrendered? Pride, a joy in sin, assertiveness, a hunger for worldly things, etc.
Sermon Scripture for next week: Read Matthew 5:13-16

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
