There is instruction for wives in 1 Peter 3. In the same way, there is instruction for husbands. The first part is this:
"Live with your wife in an understanding way." If we husbands want to breathe some hope into our marriages, then it starts with us living with our wives in such a way that we are growing in our knowledge of every room in our wife’s life.
Some practical ways to do this:
Spend regular and frequent time together ALONE. Block out at least 15 minutes each day for each other, and date regularly and consistently. Ask your wife intentional questions. Questions such as…How are you encouraged or discouraged in your faith and life right now?(If you have kids)How are you encouraged or discouraged as a mom right now? What frustrates you around the house right now? How can I pray for you? Listen to her. If you are going to ask the questions, make sure that you listen intentionally, not just to what answers she gives, but also to how she answers them.
The word “understand” is one that speaks to being sensitive and considerate to the knowledge you have gained about your wife.

There is instruction for us all
Married or unmarried, woman or man - we all need to be striving to live with the people in our lives in a more understanding way. Outside of the context of marriage, Paul said this in Romans 12:18, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”

Second part of the instruction
The word that Peter uses here for “honor” is one that is found in many ancient writings. And in those writings, it was most often used to describe the treatment of something valuable, costly, or even priceless.
Peter wants us as husbands to know that our wives are extremely VALUABLE, even PRICELESS. In addition, Peter points out that our wives are also EXQUISITE and DELICATE.
Husbands can show honor with words - and with actions. Both are vital.
