Jesus wants to exchange your shame—for His GLORY.
Tell shame to go!
Shame, in biblical theology, is both a spiritual and psychological condition—a deep internal awareness of dishonor that attacks identity and worth—manifesting as guilt, humiliation, exposure, or rejection. It is primarily caused by sin, sometimes by failure, or by wounds inflicted by others—especially when experienced in the presence of God, others, or oneself—and ultimately flows from our separation from relationship with God and from the glory God.
Hebrew words for shame
בּוּשׁ (boosh) – to be ashamed, disgraced, or Humiliated.
בֹּשֶׁת (bosheth) – shame/shameful thing (used for idols too)
חֶרְפָּה (cherpah) – reproach, public scorn or ridicule

Simplified definition:
Shame = God doesn’t love me!
Shame = God doesn’t love me!
Guilt can lead to repentance and restoration; shame, when not dealt with biblically, leads to isolation, self-hatred, or rebellion.
Shame is when you're still on trial for forgiven sin!
Caution: A lack of conviction over sin reveals a rebellious heart.
The ancient world’s shame culture is our modern day’s cancel culture!
3 Things to Understand About Shame
1. Shame is Personal

Question: What are you ashamed about? What do you need Jesus to heal and deliver you of?
3 Things to Understand About Shame
1. Shame is Personal
2. Shame is Public
1. Shame is Personal
2. Shame is Public
Shame doesn’t stay private—it exposes you in front of people, labels you by your failure, and invites others to throw stones.
Shame is often used as a public weapon—through humiliation, ridicule, or reproach.
We don’t stone people in public—but we cancel them online.
The devil accuses people and Jesus restores people.
There is no ministry of accusation. Only a ministry of reconciliation!
Question: Are you part of shame and cancel culture or a mercy culture?

Caution: The Accuser is a liar! He will make you think lies are true!
Practical Advice: Make a list of the recurring lies the enemy tells you. Find Scripture that exposes each lie. Share the list with trusted leaders or friends.
Shame = God doesn’t love me.
Jesus didn’t need clothes! He was clothed in glory!
glory: כָּבוֹד (kavod) – weight, honor, value, or splendor.
Jesus didn’t just remove shame—He exchanged it for glory.
