THE LOUD SUPPER
Easter Message
John 16:20; John 20:1โ€“20

โœ๏ธ Jesus, the Risen One, turns our deep grieving to rejoicing.

๐Ÿ”‘ Opening Thought:
In the Upper Room, Jesus gave His final teachingโ€”and made a promise still echoing today:

John 16:20 (NLT)
โ€œI tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what will happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.โ€

๐Ÿ“– God Has Always Turned Grieving into Rejoicing
From the very beginning, this has been God's rhythm:

๐ŸŒฟ Genesis 3:15 โ€” Even in the Fall, God whispered redemption.
โ€œHe will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.โ€

๐Ÿ” Throughout Scripture:
Abraham & Sarah โž Infertility to Isaac
Joseph โž Betrayal to Palace
Ruth โž Widowhood to Legacy
David โž Sin to Mercy
Elijah โž Despair to Godโ€™s Whisper
Job โž Loss to Restoration

๐ŸŒŠ Larger Stories:
The Flood โž Rainbow
Egypt โž Exodus
Exile โž Return

This has been the work of God since the beginning: to turn grieving into rejoicing.

๐Ÿ™Œ Jesus Fulfills the Pattern

In the Gospel of John:

Water โž Wine (Joy at the Wedding)
Blind โž Sight
Paralytic โž Walking
Samaritan Woman โž Testimony
Sinful Woman โž Forgiveness
Lazarus โž Raised in Joy

Each moment foreshadows Easter.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ The Upper Room โž The Tomb โž The Turnaround

Thursday: Jesus promises joy.
Friday: Jesus dies.
Saturday: Silence and grief.
Sunday: The turnaround.

๐Ÿ“– John 20:1โ€“20 (NLT) โ€“ He is Risen! Mary Magdalene finds the tomb empty. Peter and John run to see. Jesus appears to Maryโ€”calls her by name. That evening: "Peace be with you" โ€” and they were filled with joy!

๐Ÿ” The Resurrection Continues to Change Lives

Peter โž Denial to Restoration
Paul โž Persecutor to Preacher
Jailor โž Suicide to Salvation
Eunuch โž Confused to Rejoicing
Pentecost โž 3,000 Reborn

The Gospel kept spreading. The Church kept rejoicing. Why? Because Jesus, the Risen One, turns deep grieving to rejoicing.

โ“ What About Your Grief? Are you in a Saturday seasonโ€”waiting, weeping, wondering?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Jesus says: โ€œYou will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.โ€

๐Ÿ“œ Weโ€™ve seen it in Scripture.
๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Weโ€™ve seen it in history.
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Weโ€™ve seen it in this church.

You will see it, too. His work takes time. It includes loss. But it always leads to joy.

๐Ÿ“ฏ Conclusion: The Supper Still to Come

Revelation 19:6โ€“9 (NLT) โ€“ The Wedding Feast of the Lamb โ€œBlessed are those who are invitedโ€ฆโ€

Revelation 21:1โ€“4 (NLT) โ€“ No more tears. No more grief. โ€œHe will wipe every tear from their eyesโ€ฆโ€

๐ŸŒŸ Final Truth:

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ This has been the work of God since the beginning โ€” to turn grieving to rejoicing.

๐ŸŒ… This is the work of Easter โ€” to turn your grief into joy.

๐Ÿ And one day, the work will be complete โ€” with no more grieving, only rejoicing.

๐Ÿ™ Key Verse: John 16:20 - โ€œYou will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.โ€
