April 20th - He is Risen

The Tetelestai series invites us to walk through the final moments leading up to the resurrection: Lazarus’ death, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday. In each scene, we discover that what looked like the end was actually the beginning. In a world quick to move on, this series helps us slow down, sit in the tension, and see that Jesus was never rushed, never absent, and never finished until the grave was empty.

Service Times: 9am & 10:45am
Easter means it’s never too late to turn to Jesus.
1.) Jesus offers grace even when we have nothing to give.
The story of scripture is repeated in four phrases:

God loves you.
God is with you.
You don’t have to be afraid.
Come home.
2.) Jesus welcomes us fully when we trust him personally.
3.) Jesus rewrites our story, even at the end.
PRAYER OF SURRENDER

Today, I surrender my life to you, Jesus. I believe in you! I turn from my sin, and I turn to you as my Savior. Save me. Forgive me. Make me brand new. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so I can know you and serve you. My life is not my own, I belong to you. Thank you for a new life, a new family, and a new home in heaven. In the name of Jesus the King, I pray. Amen.

GOING DEEPER: DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1.) What do you think keeps people from turning to Jesus sooner?
Is it pride? Shame? Uncertainty? What has that looked like in your own story?

2.) How does this story of the thief challenge or encourage how you think about grace?

3.) We talked about the four phrases that summarize the story of Scripture: God loves you. God is with you. You don’t have to be afraid. Come home.
Which one do you most need to hear right now—and why?

4.) Jesus didn’t just save the thief’s soul. He reframed his legacy.
What part of your story are you still asking Jesus to rewrite?

E.S.P.N. for the Group Leader to Remember:

Encouragement
Leadership is 51% encouragement. Don’t underestimate the power of a kind word or a thoughtful affirmation. Look for opportunities to call out the good in each person and remind them of God’s work in their life. Encouragement builds trust and fosters connection in your group.

Scripture
Make space to read Scripture out loud together. God’s Word is living and active, and hearing it read aloud can open hearts and minds to His truth in a powerful way. Even a short passage can spark meaningful conversation and reflection.

Prayer
Create intentional moments for your group to pray together. Whether it’s a simple prayer for the week or interceding for specific needs, prayer connects us to Jesus—and Jesus transforms lives.

Next Step
Always point your group toward one clear, actionable next step before you end. It could be as simple as spending five minutes in stillness this week, reading a specific Scripture, or reaching out to someone in love. A clear next step helps people take what they’ve learned and put it into practice.
