Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Put to Death Idolatrous Pursuits (5-6)
Why do you think Paul uses such strong language—"put to death"—instead of softer words like "avoid" or "resist"?
Which of the sins listed in verse 5 (sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, covetousness) are often normalized or overlooked in Christian culture?
How can we tell when something has become an idol in our lives?

3. Put Away Selfish Attitudes and Actions (7–9)
Which of the sins in verses 8–9 is easiest for you to excuse in yourself? Why?
How do these relational sins (anger, slander, lying, etc.) affect Christian community?
When you catch yourself slipping into these behaviors, what helps you reset?

4. Put on the New Self: Grow into the Image of Jesus Christ (10-11)
What does it mean to be “renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator”?
How would you explain the process of sanctification to a new believer?
In what area of your life do you sense God is currently doing the most “renewing?”

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
