Sermon Title: The Fear of the Lord
From 2000 to 2020, the percentage of practicing Christians has dropped from 45% to 25% of U.S. adults.
George Barna defines "practicing Christians" as those who identify as Christian, strongly prioritize faith, and attend church regularly.

To fear means to be afraid or feel anxious or apprehensive about a situation or event.

ירא yrʾ (Ya-Ray) fear, be afraid; fear God; be feared, be honored; terrible; dreaded; awesome
The fear of the Lord is about reverence, not terror.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom

The fear of the Lord leads to Holiness.
How do you know if you’re NOT walking in the fear of the Lord?
1. Irreverence or Casualness toward God.
2. Persistent Sin Without Conviction
3. Fear of Man over God
4. Complacency outside of daily Encounters
5. Absence of God’s Presence
Stubbornness blocks you from fearing the Lord
The fear of the Lord keeps our conscience tender and guards against sin.
The fear of the Lord leads to worship.
When you fear the Lord, you will pursue intimacy with Jesus through His presence.
The Fear of The Lord means Honoring Him above all else.
If God’s power and name are not revered in His own church and by His own bride, why on earth would the world care about what’s happening in here every Sunday?
The Fear of the Lord means honoring God above all else.
The Fear of the Lord looks like radical obedience.
Kingdom Culture has a value of Obedience | He has our “Yes”
This means obeying God promptly, completely, and wholeheartedly.

The Fear of the Lord draws you to understand His character.
Fearing the Lord is different than fearing His consequences.
It’s time to walk in the fear of the Lord.
