THE BOOK OF ACTS APRIL 6, 2025
DEVOTED TO GOING

SCRIPTURE
Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John. Peter saw his opportunity and address the crowd. Acts 3:1-12 (NLT)

ENTERING YOUR SPHERES

Your Jerusalem is your home. Your Judea is your neighborhood, class, workplace, and hangouts. Your Samaria is your city, state, and country. Your Ends of the Earth is the nations.

PRACTICAL SEED SOWING

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6

1/ We sow seeds through parenting.

I remember your genuine faith…the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. 2 Timothy 1:5

Barna says 60-80% of people come to faith in Christ before the age of 18.

2/ We sow seeds through heartfelt conversations.

(Nicodemus) came to Jesus at night and said… John 3:2

We can have a monologue.

We can have a dialogue.

3/ We sow seeds through telling our story.

We proclaim to you what we’ve seen and heard. 1 John 1:3

“We lead with our strengths, but connect through our weaknesses.”

This is who I was… This is what happened… This is who I am…

4/ We sow seeds through signs, wonders, healings, and prophetic words.

“In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6

5/ We sow seeds through prayer.

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the (lost) is that they may be saved. Romans 10:1

We can pray for people.

We can pray with people.

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. James 5:13

6/ We sow seeds through lives well lived.

“…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

People want to see our faith before discussing our faith.

…they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

7/ We sow seeds through serving other believers and ministries.

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples.” John 13:35

8/ We sow seeds through public platforms, social media, and resources.

(Paul) spoke daily in the public square to all who happened to be there. Acts 17:17

This may involve posts, videos, books, sermon notes, movies, and so forth.

9/ We sow seeds through sharing and explaining Scripture.

So Philip ran to the Ethiopian Eunuch and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Acts 8:30

We can explain Scripture in person.

We can explain Scripture from a platform.

10/ We sow seeds through missions.

While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:2-3

We can go on missions.

We can give towards missions.

11/ We sow seeds through “bringvitations.”

Then Andrew brought Simon (Peter) to meet Jesus. John 1:42
