This is Paul writing to the church in Rome and explaining that some people choose to be spiritually blind instead of worshiping God.
In verse 18 Pauls says Gods anger comes against those who “suppress the truth by their wickedness.” What did Paul mean by that?
How do people today suppress truth with wickedness?
Paul says people have no excuse for not knowing God (Verses 19-20). Do you agree with this? Why or why not? What excuses do people use?
Paul says in verse 23 that instead of worshiping God they worshiped idols made to look like earthly things. Most people today are not worshiping these type of idols but what idols are prevalent in our society?
Why are these idols so compelling and convincing to follow?
Paul says in verse 21 that people “began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like.” When you think of God what do you think of? Father? Friend? Judge? Something else?
