You cannot discuss your identity without your story.
Stories stay with us, they shape us, and they reveal what we value.
A Parable is a short moral story that was often expressed with imagery and metaphor.
Jesus’ parables provide a glimpse of his Kingdom.
• The kingdom is more valuable than all you treasure
• The Kingdom is worth more than all you own or have previously experienced
• The kingdom is worth more than all the other stories that shape your life.
• The Kingdom is worth more than all you own or have previously experienced
• The kingdom is worth more than all the other stories that shape your life.
Warning: Kingdom stories are often simple, and simple stories are easy to set aside.
Kingdom stories are timeless. They shape us over the seasons of our life
In each season of our life, the meaning of these parables may take root in a new way. As the seed of the gospel begins to take root in a new portion of our heart or mind because of the experiences and struggles we are facing, there is greater opportunity to experience the depth of God’s wisdom and truth.
At every stage of life and every stage of faith development, Jesus calls us to follow him faithfully. This will always include some level of sacrifice or release of what has been. The way of Jesus is to follow in his footsteps, and those steps led to the cross, to the ultimate sacrifice.
VISION BENEDICTION
