Plan – Reclaiming the Nations & Reversing Babel

* Genesis 11 (Tower of Babel) – The scattering of nations.

* Deuteronomy 32:8-9 – God disinherited the nations, placing them under
lesser spiritual beings.

* Psalms 82:1-8 – A judgment of these rebellious spiritual rulers.

* Acts 2:5-11 – Pentecost reversed Babel by uniting people through the Spirit!

* Genesis 12 (Abrahamic Covenant) – God’s plan to bless the nations through Christ.

Sons of God or Sons of Israel?

Most English Bibles have ā€œsons of Israelā€ or something similar because the translation is based on the traditional Hebrew text of the Old Testament, known to us as the Masoretic Text.

But how does God dividing humankind and fixing the boundaries of the peoples ā€œaccording to the number of the sons of Israelā€ make any sense? Deuteronomy 32:8 hearkens back to what happened at Babel—and Israel did not exist at that time! If you read through the ā€œTable of Nationsā€ in Genesis 10, Israel does not even appear.

ā€˜Sons of Israel’ or ā€˜Sons of God’ in Deuteronomy 32:8?

Purity – Cleansing & Judgment (Baptism of Fire)

Matthew 3:11 – The Holy Spirit refines believers and judges unrepentant hearts. The Spirit’s fire purifies God’s people for His mission.

The fire of God cleanses us and judges those who do not want to pledge their allegiance to Jesus!

The promise of the Holy Spirit is that we would have a transformed heart and the Holy Spirit on the inside.
People – Formation of a New Spirit-Filled Community

Acts 2:42-47 – Pentecost birthed a new kind of community, marked by:
*Radical unity ("They devoted themselves to teaching and
fellowship…")
*Supernatural generosity ("They had all things in common.")
*Multicultural fellowship (breaking barriers between Jews & Gentiles).

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just empower individuals—He forms a family!

Prophetic Empowerment (Spirit-Given Gifts & Communication)

Joel 2:28-29 – God desires to speak to us and through us.

Pentecost marked open communication between God and His people.
Empowerment for Witness (The Boldness to Preach & Evangelize)

Acts 1:8 – "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…"Acts 2:41, 47 – 3,000 saved at Pentecost! Revival brings transformation. The Spirit gives both power and love, igniting true revival!
Multiple Fillings – An Ongoing Need

Ephesians 5:18 – "Be filled with the Spirit…" (Greek: be continuously filled).

Examples of multiple fillings in Acts:
* Acts 2:4 – "They were all filled with the Holy Spirit."
* Acts 4:8 – Peter, filled again, boldly preaches.
* Acts 4:31 – Believers filled again after prayer.
* Acts 13:9 – Paul, filled with the Spirit, operates in boldness.

Why do we need multiple fillings?

We need fresh empowerment for new seasons, challenges, and assignments.
