hey
The Creation account is about God creating a HOUSE and making it HOME.
1) How does God make Earth HOME?
What is a temple?

A temple is a sacred place where the God (or gods) dwells, thereby bringing heaven to earth, where the God (or gods) exercises [and extends on earth] His rule and reign, and where humans connect with and worship God.
2) What makes Creation/Earth God’s Temple?
(1) History—Ancient Civilizations
“In some of the Ancient Near Eastern texts, a temple is built as a conclusion to cosmic creation.” (Walton, Lost World of Genesis, 77).
“… Ancient Near Eastern archaeology and texts portray ancient temples as microcosms of heavenly temples or of the universe in a manner similar to that of the Old Testament. It is now widely known that archaeological ruins and texts from the Ancient Near East portray ancient temples as small models of heavenly temples or of the universe conceived as a temple.”

(Beale, The Temple and the Church’s Mission, 51).
(2) Context—Wilderness and Blueprint for the Tabernacle
(3) Text—Temple elements in the Creation Account
(4) The Bible tells us so (Ezekiel 28:13,14)
3) Why does it matter that Creation is a Temple?
Home is where...
- Your NAME is (Identity)
- Your FAMILY is (Belonging)
- LOVE is (Acceptance)
- VALUES are (Governance; Guides; Dos; Don’t Dos; Kind of Character you pursue)
- PURPOSE is (Project; Mission; Goal; What you do; Roles and Responsibilities)
- SHALOM is (Well-Being; flourishing; functionality; security; rest)
- Your HEART is
There were two things Jesus told His disciples that are vital to the Church today:

(1) He told them that He had to go and prepare their future HOME (John 14).

(2) He commissioned His people to invite ALL people back HOME (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8)
Are you HOME?

Are you searching for HOME?
- They look up
- They look beyond
- They look within
JESUS is HOME!
