Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 8:26-29 (NIV)
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”
“A big vision is only attained by the culmination of many small steps.”
Vision Day is about:
• Looking back and celebrating what God has done
• Defining who we are
• Looking forward to what God is going to do
“The enemy of faith isn’t fear; it’s sight.”
-Benny Perez
Acts 8:26 (NIV)
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”
Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
“The quickest way to miss God is to meet him at the place you assumed He was going.”
“The only metric of success with God is OBEDIENCE.”
Acts 8:31 (NIV)
31 “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
“If you follow His steps, vision is an invitation to join, not a barrier to overcome.”
“What looks like a risk to us looks like obedience to God.”
A God-sized vision:
1. A God-sized vision is accomplished by small steps
of obedience.
2. A God-sized vision rarely looks like the steps taken
to get there.
3. A God-sized vision should be impossible to
accomplish in your own strength.
4. A God-sized vision will outlive you.
“We overestimate what we can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in a decade.”
