MAIN MESSAGE: "MULTIPLY"

In Genesis 1 God creates Adam. Perfect in every way but still God says “It’s not good for man to be alone”
Then God creates a perfect compliment for Adam, He multiplies out of Adam and He creates Eve. And out of this perfection, God says, the Two shall become one. A picture of perfect unity.

So God then sends them out and says “Be fruitful and multiply”
Grow beyond yourself.
Here God introduces the truth of multiplication, through the Law of Seed Time and harvest, God commissions Adam and Eve to take responsibility for ensuring future growth and fruitfulness.

As the years progress we find much later the prophet Isaiah declaring prophetically these words:

Isaiah 60:21-22 NLT
“All your people will be righteous. They will possess their land forever, for I will plant them there with my own hands in order to bring myself glory. The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.””
What God is saying is, that when He is involved in something it grows, it is fruitful, it multiplies.

As the years past by, God kept His promise to Israel but no one could have imagined what was still to come.
Sometimes you can get so caught up in what’s happening around you that you don’t see the potential of change and growth, and of what should be and could be.

For Israel, hundreds of years went by, then we find in John 1
John 1:1-5, 14 NIV
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John is speaking about Jesus.
So the question is…
What did Jesus come to do?

John 1:12-13 NIV
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
He came to save and rescue mankind. To reconcile man back to God. He came to bring mankind back to that covenant promise of seed time and harvest, that place of authority and promise, where there is fruitfulness and multiplication.
What A powerful message.

It was such an important message that Jesus sends his followers out to tell others.

Mark 6:7 NIV
“Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.”
This was a serious message which was to go beyond the few.
In fact eventually Jesus would take this important message and give final instructions to all who would hear it.

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””
And so from the one, God intends to reach the multitudes and to that He instructed us to be a people who…

GO
One person makes contact with another person and shares their faith story, invites them into their world. They go beyond themselves.
Who then..

MAKE DISCIPLES
Teaching, walking with people and living in community.
Who then…

BUILD
The kingdom of God, by bringing a kingdom influence in everyday life, in homes, workplace, through recreation, celebration centres, and social justice.

RELEASE
More and more people into their spiritual gifting, and rise up into leadership as cell leaders, zone supervisors, zone pastors and campus pastors.
1 to over 800 cell groups with leaders and interns.
And for 2025 Who then…

MULTIPLY

Jesus said…
John 15: 1 niv “I am the vine, and my Father is the Gardner.”
So this is about Jesus and the requirements of heaven.
Because Jesus then took this further by saying …
John 15:5, 8 NIV
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
We see here that what needs to be done here in this world cannot be done without the divine, without heavenly involvement.
What Jesus is saying here is you need to be multiplying your life out. But not without Christ.
In fact Paul the Apostle said it like this to his disciple Timothy.
2 Timothy 2:2 NIV “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Paul is clearly saying that Timothys responsibility does not just lie in the one to one relationship that he has with him, but he needs to multiply for example in….
1: INFLUENCE (in the marketplace, but also Cell Groups)
2: WORD
3: LEADERSHIP
4: GENEROSITY
2 Corinthians 9:10-12 NIV

“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
Multiplying your life out, living large and beyond yourself will ultimately result in an “overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
Life Church and Life Child have had a huge impact on the nations. Thousands of people have been saved, thousands of children have been rescued through Life Child.
Here is the story of Zimaseka (mom) and Lisekho (son)

When Lucy met them in 2020, the family of 9 were living in the Kosovo informal shack settlement, sharing a 2-room zinc shack home. At the time, their family was living on next to nothing. Life was really dim for Zimaseka. She was a young mom, depressed and lost, not knowing which way to turn, and she had a 5-year-old son she needed to care for.

Then she met Life Child when her son Lisekho started in the Life Child Preschool in January 2020.
This is where Zimaseka’s journey of hope began. When her son was accepted at Life Child Preschool, Zimaseka fully embraced every opportunity presented, joining the Parent Cell, attending parenting workshops, and volunteering as a cleaner and relief teacher at the preschool.
She said: “The Cell gave me purpose in life as I wasn’t doing anything, due to my depression. I started to have faith in God and began trusting Him for His plan for my life. Choosing God is hard, but everything works out for the good.”

With her hope restored and her depression lifted, she was ready to reapply to study. One of the Life Child teachers helped her with an online application to study Foundation Phase Teaching through Unisa.
Her whole family has experienced a change, the ripple effect starting with Lisekho being invited to come to preschool in 2020. He is now 10 years old and is a top-performing student at school.
Zimaseka’s walk with the Lord has continually deepened, and on Easter Sunday, 2023, she chose to get baptized at Life Church Philippi with her mom and son present. She is currently serving there as a youth leader.

Because we took the hand of one, multiple people have been impact.
So church….
Why do we want to Multiply? Because its all about
People to People & People to God.
