Do You Need A Messiah?

Messiah = “Anointed One” = Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ

Lord (Κύριος, Kyrios) – Jesus' Divine Authority

Meaning:Master, Ruler, Sovereign

Significance: Calling Jesus "Lord" acknowledges His divine authority and lordship over all creation.

The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew name Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ), which is a shortened form of Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ), meaning "Yahweh (God) is salvation" or "The Lord saves."

Jesus (Ἰησοῦς, Iēsous) – The Savior

Meaning: "Yahweh saves" or "The Lord is salvation" (from Hebrew Yeshua / Yehoshua)

Significance: This is His personal name, given to Him because He would save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Christ (Χριστός, Christos) – The Anointed One (Messiah)

Meaning: "Anointed One" or "Messiah" (from Hebrew Mashiach)

Significance: "Christ" is not Jesus' last name, but His messianic title, identifying Him as the promised King, Prophet, and High Priest of the Old Testament.
