The How's and Why's of Your Making

It is a mistake to think we were created for our own purposes. If we live for our own income, image, or some trivial trophy, we will have missed the greater purpose.

Our number one purpose must be God's Purpose for our living.
"Made" - Celebrating the creative genius of God

Illust: 'Don't use a brush, trowel, cresent wrench as a hammer. Use a hammer as a hammer!' You were made with a specific purpose in mind.

Physically Made - 'fearfully and wonderfully'

Emotionally Made - I trust we are all developing empathy, defense for the weak, hope for the broken

Spiritually Made - this requires help from God = New Birth
God's Tools for Molding:

1. Blessings:
2. Pressure - the hands of the Potter and the pressure forms the shape.

3. Pain - nothing gets our attention more than pain.

4. Success - success can be affirmation. This is especially true to prove God in our tithing - the giving of the first of our income for the promotion of God's Kingdom on earth.

5. Relationships - if a relationship is preventing your prayer / progress, then it is a good indicator we are on the wrong track. Some relationships that God sends are like 'sandpaper' to smooth out our rough spots.

6. Mortality - remembering our temporary status helps us focus on our purpose.
The 'Why'

1. For His Pleasure! - He delights in you.
2. To Worship - let your life-song sing for Him!
3. To Mirror (reflect) the Image of Christ to the World!
4. To Serve and Save Others (Evangelism)
Concl: The Over-decorated Christmas Tree

Can have so many ornaments on it...you can't see the lights!

To live for self is sin...to live for Christ is salvation.
