· living in order to please God
· sanctification
· sexual immorality
· controlling our bodies
Controlling our bodies included our minds, our desires, motives, our speech as well as our actions.
In Leviticus 18:24, God tells His people, that they must not defile themselves in any of these ways (mentioned previously).
· God’s people are called to live holy lives.
· Living holy lives certainly includes the command to not wrong a brother or take advantage of him.

Telling vs. Warning
“Holiness primarily means separation—separation from evil. It is essential, absolute purity.” ~ MLJ
In verse 8, Paul makes a final comment on what was said in the previous 7 verses.
Every person who comes to Christ comes because the Holy Spirit draws them.
Every person who ever came to Christ has the Holy Spirit living in us.
We have the ability to grieve the Holy Spirit.
What causes Him grief? Sin. If you look at Ephesians 4, you will see to what degree it is addressed.
If we desire to carry out our calling to live a holy life, we must separate ourselves from sin. And the best way to do this is to walk or live by the Spirit.

🗓️ ANNUAL MEETING 🗓️
Our Annual Meeting will be held in the sanctuary TODAY, January 19, immediately following the morning worship service. All members are encouraged and expected to participate if possible.
A PDF copy of the 2025 budget information and 2024 Finance Report has been emailed to all members. If you would like to have a paper copy, please contact the church office.
We will vote on the following:
1. Approval of the 2025 budget.
2. Affirmation of the 2025 Elder Ministry Team: Jason Avery, Patty Bales, Brian Bocock, Dan Marshall, and Alyssa Newell.
Because the meeting is expected to be fairly short, we will not have a potluck. For questions or more information, please contact the church office.

Hearing Assistance Devices Available
We have hearing assistance devices available during the morning worship service which allow the user to control the volume based on their individual needs. They are available from the Sound Booth at the rear of the sanctuary and are cleaned and sanitized after each use. For questions, see Rocky Starland.
Have You Considered?
Did you know that if your bank offers online services, you can set your tithe up as a regular ‘bill payment’ through your bank? This is a convenient option to help with continuity in giving and the ability for you to tithe even when you are on vacation or miss church. It eliminates having to wonder if you turned in your offering while you were gone! If you have questions or would like more information about how to utilize this convenient option, check with your banking institution or contact the church office.
Pop Cans = Scholarships
Don’t forget that your beverage can & bottle donations are used to fund teen scholarships for youth retreats, summer camps, special activities, etc. Please bring your recyclable items to the church anytime!

· Beth Bocock is hospitalized in North Carolina with ulcerative colitis.
· Ed Newell (Dean Newell's dad) developed chest pains again and is back at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. They are continuing more tests, but he will likely have a heart catheterization and stents placed.
· Ginny Dorsey (Rhonda Dobberstein's mother) is recovering from back surgery and is having a rough time with the pain. Her spine was in worse shape than expected, so the surgery was more intense. This surgery needed to be done last year, but she fell and broke her leg and the year before that she had a hip replacement so it kept getting delayed. She is also struggling emotionally as she has been dealing with lots of pain for the last few years.
· Allie Wilson is recovering from pneumonia. Pray that her blood pressure remains stable.
· Cam (18 yar-old son of Tracy Marshall’s co-worker) who has mosaic trisomy 3, recently began having seizures, from which a brain tumor was then discovered. The oncology doctor thinks that the location is too risky to do a biopsy to see if it is malignant. Also, they still don't know what is causing the seizures, as the doctor does not believe the tumor is the issue.
· Griffin & Kaylynn Rooker upon the premature birth of their daughter, Ruby Rose, on 12/13. Kaylynn is recovering from a c-section and Ruby remains hospitalized.
· Patrick Low had a successful procedure to break large kidney stones into smaller pieces; continued prayers are appreciated as he deals with this ongoing issue.
· Linda Newell · is recovering from surgery for a herniated disc in her lower back.
· Judy Jones (wife of Pastor Grady Jones/friend of Pastor Jerry) is recovering from a successful surgery and doctors believe they removed all of the cancer. She is waiting for biopsy results to decide how to proceed with treatment.
· John Randell (friend of Bruce Ferguson) has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
· Lennon McKamey (son of Kyle & Sarah) needs surgery on his shoulder. Please pray that preparing for surgery goes smoothly.
· Check out our monthly prayer card on-line at southhavenfbc.com under “Weekly Bulletins” for a list of those with on-going needs.
