• Simeon was promised that he would see the Messiah before he died. Imagine receiving this promise from God that the one who has been prophesied for many years would come in his lifetime and that he would meet Him!
• Many of us would be discouraged as we aged, wondering if we would ever experience God’s promise come to pass.
Scripture says that Simeon was “devout and eagerly waiting” for Jesus. We learn something from the story of Simeon that is still available for us today.
• Jesus is found by those who seek Him.
Ask yourself — are you actively asking, seeking, and knocking, as Scripture says? Or are you too focused on the things of life that distract you from Jesus?
• Asking, seeking, and knocking are intentional actions. None of these things happen usually or by accident. You have to commit yourself to seeking Jesus!
• Action must be taken if we want to find Jesus. Thankfully, we are promised that when we ask, seek, and knock — Jesus will be found! Make a decision to actively seek Jesus!
