Christmas Eve Special Offering
This year our Christmas Eve Offering will go to support the work of Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Each year at Christmas Eve, we give 100% of the offering toward a world mission organization impacting the world for Jesus. In the past Pax has partnered with:
World Vision
The Water Project
Operation Christmas Child.
There are still many people groups in the world that do no have access to the bible in their own language.
It costs about $35 to make one verse of scripture available to others in their own language.
Please prayerfully consider how you can partner with Pax this year to help make the good news available to all people.
If you would like to give before Christmas eve, you can give online, and select "Christmas Offering", instead of the general fund.

"Choose Joy"
At this time of year we are bombarded with the message to "Choose Joy"
Biblical Joy is a gift produced in us by the presence of God.
At this time of year we are bombarded with the message to "Choose Joy"
Biblical Joy is a gift produced in us by the presence of God.
Biblical Joy is independent of circumstance.
Biblical Joy is dependent on the presence of God.
During this season of Advent we remember the presence of God, in the person of Jesus and the gift of Joy that presence has brought us all.
Biblical Joy is dependent on the presence of God.
During this season of Advent we remember the presence of God, in the person of Jesus and the gift of Joy that presence has brought us all.
In the midst of a season of hope, expectation, love, and promise life still happens.
If you had to guage what measure of Joy you are experiencing on a scale from 1-10, 1 being a lesser measure and 10 a greater measure of joy, what would it be?
If we allow circumstances, the good, the bad, the mundane to influence or be the source of our joy then we settle for happiness--and we miss the gift of joy.
Joy is a gift produced in us by the presence of God.
A helpful prayer to remind us of this, when the reality of our circumstances is heavy and burdensome:
"Jesus, You are my joy"

We celebrate the birth of Christ and remember God chose to come and be present with humanity in the midst of normalcy, in the middle of everyday life, when things aren't and weren't perfect or going perfectly.
It is a good reminder that God is willing to be with us in every moment.
The gift of the presence of God is available to us at all times, in all places.
It is a good reminder that God is willing to be with us in every moment.
The gift of the presence of God is available to us at all times, in all places.
Because of Jesus sacrifice and resurrection we can confidently approach God.
Jesus has made a way for us to be in the presence of God and he invites us to draw near to him...promising to meet us when we do.
Jesus has made a way for us to be in the presence of God and he invites us to draw near to him...promising to meet us when we do.
The good news is that the Messiah, the Lord has been born...
God with us, is here.
and arrival will be great joy, for all people.

The birth of Jesus
It is the beginning of the reconciliation of God and man.
It is the beginning of the Great Joy that comes with the presence of the the Lord.
And it is for all...
It is the beginning of the reconciliation of God and man.
It is the beginning of the Great Joy that comes with the presence of the the Lord.
And it is for all...
The very heavens rejoice at the presence of God with his people.
This arrival, this announcement, this rejoicing prompts a response:
The shepherds choose to go and see.
It isn't that we choose Joy.
It's that we choose to enter the Lord's presence.
Joy is a gift produced in us by his presence.

This is what joy looks like:
Having come near to the Lord, they leave rejoicing and sharing the joy of the good news of the great joy for all people:
The Messiah, the Lord is here. With us.

As we approach Christmas Eve, how and when will you set aside moments and time to remember and enter into the presence of the Lord
We can choose to enter into the presence of God in two ways:
--by drawing near to him in prayer and devotion,
--and by acknowledging the presence of the holy spirit in our lives.
Draw Near To God
We can enter into God's presence by actively drawing near to him--remembering who he is and what he has done and offering praise and thanksgiving.
Acknowledge and remember God's Spirit is with you:
We can enter into God's presence by acknowledging the Holy spirit is with and in us--asking him to remind us he is there and that our joy is found in his presence with us.

COMMUNION: REMEMBERING WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR US ON THE CROSS, AND EXPERIENCING HIS PRESENCE TODAY.
COMMUNION
We believe in an open communion, and would like to invite anyone who has professed faith in Jesus to participate with us this morning.
Communion elements will be made available at the close of service at the front of the room, please wait to come forward until we have prayed.
The bread represents the body of Christ.
The juice/cup represents the blood of Christ.

https://www.biblestudytools.com/BAPTISM
Are you ready to be baptized? In the Bible, when people come to faith in Christ, and they ask "what do I do now?" the answer is consistently baptism. In baptism, we identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection as we lay down our lives in the water, and come to new life in Christ. If you believe Jesus is Lord and are ready to make that declaration in your life, sign up and we would love to baptize you.
