Waiting, like Abraham, for the promise to become reality...
What do unbelievers experience when God's last judgments are poured out?
1. They suffer a world of torment (v 1-9).
1. They suffer a world of torment (v 1-9).
2. They join a demonic rebellion (v 10-16).
3. They drain a full cup of God's wrath (v 17-21).
Applying God’s Word through 1:10 Journey groups, family devotions, or personal meditation:
Opener
1. What firsthand experience do you have with a natural disaster?
Recap
2. Read Revelation 16. What stood out to you as challenging, encouraging or confusing from this week’s passage or sermon?
3. What does God’s patience or long-suffering before His wrath tell us about Him?
4. What is the angel saying in v 5-6? How does this help us understand God’s wrath?
5. Is it surprising to you that the people under God’s judgment don’t repent (v 9, 11, 21)? Why or why not?
Digging Deeper – Read Luke 22:14-20, 39-46.
6. What are the two cups in this passage and how do they relate to each other?
7. Why do you think Jesus prays for the cup to be removed from Him?
8. How does this passage paired with Revelation 16 help your understanding of what Jesus did for you?
Application
9. In v 13, Satan’s cause is advanced by false teaching. Knowing this, how should we be vigilant to protect ourselves from the enemy’s advances?
10. Share something you learned from your personal Bible reding this week.
