5 PRINCIPLES OF MONEY MANAGEMENT
PRINCIPLE #1- FREEDOM THROUGH CONTENTMENT
As the saying goes, "Life is a serics of choices," and contentment is one of those choices God wants you to make, especially with regard to moncy. When you look to money instead of to God to bring meaning to your life, the trouble it brings is terrible.

PRINCIPLES OF CONTENTMENT
Remind yourself-God owns everything!
Recognize God as the source--He provides all you possess.
Realize that God wants you to be content with what you have--He wants you to be like Him.
Review the ways God has provided for your nceds in the past-He is always faithful.
Rest in the assurance of God's love regardless of your financial circumstancesHe is always with you.
Rely on the faithfulness of God-He is trustworthy.

Money can be made a substitute for just about anything because it is the means by which many purchase pleasurable experiences. Money buys much but it cannot buy what cannot besold. It cannot buy the essential intangibles in life. It cannot meet the inner needs of the soul and spirit.
PRINCIPLE #2 - FREEDOM THROUGH SELF-CONTROL
Since you died with Christ to the power of sin in your life, you must choose to consider yourself dead to the strong pull of impulse spending and act accordingly by exercising self-control.

PRINCIPLES OF SELF-CONTROL WITH MONEY
Start by mentally and emotionally transferring ownership of everything you own to God.
Separate yourself from the financial sins of greed and idolatry.
Set a new goal for managing your finances.
Stand on truth when tempted to make unwise financial decisions.
Surrender your will to the will of God.
Stay away from temptation by controlling your thoughts.

GROUP QUESTION: Will I be wealthy if I follow God's financial principles for managing money?
God gives no guarantees that you will be monetarily wealthy, but obedience always brings spiritual rcwards in this life as well as rewards in the life to come. Poverty plagues our world, and those blessed with wealth do not always acknowledge God as the owner of all.
However, God does give us many principles in the Bible to help us become wise in the matter of money so that it will be a blessing to us and not a curse.
