The Good News tells us that we are saved for a reason – to fulfill a purpose!
God prepared the work in advance – before you were saved.
God prepared very specific work to be done by you.
We fail to fulfill our purpose because we are afraid of what the Spirit may call us to – or because we know He’ll call us to more than we’re willing to give.
The Spirit called Jesus to the cross, and He will lead us to the cross as well.
When the Spirit calls us to things, places, and sacrifices we wouldn’t choose on our own – He gets the glory on the other side of them!
To fulfill our purpose, we have to release our grip of control on our life and decide to be led – no matter what – no matter where!
The Spirit’s presence won’t be manifest where His leadership isn’t welcome.
We must also face our fear of God not coming through.
Or our fear of God failing us makes believe we need to cover for God.
We ask for less, expect less, and are satisfied with less because we are afraid to ask for or expect more
This doesn’t honor God, it grieves Him.
God not only wants to equip us – His Word proves that He HAS equipped us.
God has given EACH of us a gift and we are to use those gifts to serve one another.
When we use the gifts we’ve received from the Spirit to fulfil the purpose we’ve been given, EVERYTHING we do will bring glory to GOD.
If we partner with Christ in His suffering – we partner with Him in His glory!
Keep trusting your lives to the God who created you. He will NEVER fail you.
If He has gone to that length to prepare the work – you can trust that He will equip you for the work.
No matter where He calls us, no matter the purpose He has for us – He will equip us there and His power in us will accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think!
Our focus on the long-term keeps us from fulfilling God’s purpose for today.
We often use our pursuit of God’s will for our future to remain idle in the present.
We fail to engage in God’s daily purpose for our lives because we’re waiting for Him to reveal His will for our life over the next 5 – 10 – 15 years.
Why does God reveal His purpose one step at a time?
If we have clarity about the future before taking the step today, no faith is required.
If God gave us the destination, we would try and get there on our own.
God’s will not only includes where He’s taking us, but also the journey to get there.
If we will turn our eyes from the things of the world and focus on God…if we will trust Him for leadership in the day to day, His Spirit will be there telling us this is the way – walk in it.
As we obey Him in the daily work – His long-term purpose is revealed.
Our focus needs adjustment because we’re focused on fulfilling our potential when God wants us focused on fulfilling our purpose.
Phillip was one of the men called to be the first deacons and was sent to Samaria.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, he performed miracles and preached the Messiah wherever he went.
God was moving in Samaria. Phillip had a very effective and fruitful ministry, but then the Spirit called him to something else.
Phillip was leading a fruitful ministry and the Holy Spirit calls him to the desert road.
The Spirit knew this man was going to be there, and Phillip’s purpose was to share the gospel with this one man that day.
This man was saved because Phillip was focused on his purpose instead of his potential.
What would have happened everyone in Ethiopia if Phillip was focused on his potential instead of his purpose that day?
The Spirit led Jesus to the cross.
His potential was to rain lightning down from heaven…
His potential was to call on all the angel armies to destroy those trying to crucify Him.
His potential was to annihilate all those trying to kill Him.
But His PURPOSE was to die for them.
Where are your fears getting in the way of fulfilling God’s purpose for your life?
Where do you need to reset your focus?
Where do you need to let the Spirit empower you to fulfill His purpose?

Worship Through Giving

Scripture tells us that the things we spend our money on reveal what is in our heart (Matthew 6:21). We believe that cheerful and sacrificial giving of our finances to the work of the local church is one of the deepest expressions of worship that we can offer and shows that we truly want to love as Jesus loved.
