What is something unique or descriptive about your church? My wife and I have recently become the new pastors at LIC! One of the things that we have noticed about our church is that, although we're on the south side, the church has remained consistently multicultural over the years.
What is happening within the church that you are excited about? We have a lot of fresh ideas as we go forward. One of our primary areas of focus is on discipleship, so we are currently praying about ways to sharpen the edge of discipling those entrusted to us. We've coined the term "Renew the Mind, Renew the Streets."
What are one or two prayer needs within the church? We are in desperate need of laborers. We have toddlers and teenagers who are showing up, and we need help in developing systems that engage with these demographics. We have the facility, but the workforce is weak. Secondly we need a new sound system that will last for years to come. With that, we need a true sound engineer, someone that knows his or her way around PA equipment.
Anything else you'd like to share? An additional prayer need would be that God would continue to help us build up the infrastructure of the church so that, as we grow, people are not coming into mess, but a healthy body.
