Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Read Philippians 3:18-19. The phrase here that sticks out to me is “whose god is their belly.” What does that mean, and why is it essential that when we are proclaiming the Gospel, we are faithful to share the cost of following Jesus?

3. Read the account of Peter walking on water in Matthew 14:22-33. Describe Peter’s behavior in this event, both good and bad. We often hear Jesus reproving the disciples for their little faith. What does faithlessness look like in your life? How can you grow in faith?

4. Read Psalm 25:1-2 and 31:14-15. Is there anything that is impossible with God? Is God trustworthy in all situations? Does God ever get overwhelmed or tired? Has God done great things throughout history? Why is it so easy for us to affirm these truths, and still struggle to daily put our faith in Him?

5. Read John 6:14-15. Why did Jesus refuse to let the crowd make Him King at this time?

Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
