https://ehwc.org/helloDavid’s Regrets:
1. His own sinful actions. (2 Samuel 11)
2. Seeing those same sinful actions passed on to the next generation. (2 Samuel 13)
3. Mismanaging his family dynamics and conflicts. (2 Samuel 13)
4. Letting Absalom deceive him and lead a coup. (2 Samuel 14-17)
How David’s Regrets Reflect our Common Regrets:
1. Our own sinful brokenness.
2. Generational family dysfunction.
3. Mismanaging conflict within our family.
4. Letting ourselves be deceived by others.
When We Dwell on Our Regrets Instead of Focusing on Our God-given Responsibilities:
1. We misunderstand how to love people around us. (Verse 6a)
2. We communicate to others that they have little worth. (Verse 6b)
3. We sacrifice a “now” we can change for a “then” we cannot. (Verse 6c)
The Pivot: Choose responsibility over regrets. (Verse 7)
